Chairman meets the creators of 'Perfect'

On Saturday 14th April, Chairman Paul Falconer went to Dress Circle in London to meet the creators of our next production, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Jimmy Roberts (composer) and Joe De Pietro (lyricist).  Although they were there to promote their new show, 'The Thing About Men' they were more than happy to talk about their long-running off-Broadway hit too.  As well as having a chat with them about our forthcoming production, Paul managed to get a photo taken with the pair.

A prize may be given for the best caption!

Players Awarded VSA's

We are delighted that the voluntary work of two Epsom Players has been recognised by Epsom & Ewell Borough's Voluntary Service Awards scheme. Nominated by Epsom Playhouse, for years of volunteer work in amateur dramatics, are John Taylor and Steve Bittlestone (our President).

John has directed many shows for the Society including Bugsy Malone and Copacabana as well as appearing in others such as Billy.

As well as being the Socirty's president, Steve has lit and/or provided sound for countless productions.  But not content with that, he has also directed plenty of shows including The Elephant Man, A Slice of Saturday Night, Return To The Forbidden Planet and most recently Jesus Christ Superstar.

Our congratulations to John and Steve for such deserved recognition!

Shooting Star

Committee Member Dalton Leong is by day the Chief Executive for The Shooting Star Children's Hospice.   He recently attended a special 30th anniversary gala performance of 'Side By Side By Sondheim' which was in aid of the hospice.  Whilst there, Dalton took a phone call from Steve Green to tell him that he had been cast as one of the mechanics in our autumn production of Summer Holiday.  Two minutes later he was shaking hands with Cameron Mackintosh, Stephen Sondheim and Judi Dench, amongst others.  He told Dame Judi that he had auditioned and been cast as a London Bus Mechanic and she was thrilled, asking when rehearsals were, when the show is etc.  So who knows who might be in the audience in October!
