Our spring production for 2008 was the Patrick Marber play 'Closer'. Probably best known for its 2004 film adaptation starring Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman, 'Closer' is a witty and dangerous love story about chance meetings, instant attractions and casual betrayals.
In 1997 'Closer' won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play, the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy, the Critics' Circle Award for Best New Play and the Time Out Award for Best New Play. In 1999 it received the New York Critics' Circle Award for Best Foreign Play.
