“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is a musical
comedy by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts' that
has been attracting audiences since 1996. It’s
the longest running musical off-Broadway and has been a hit all over the World.
The show is a revue of songs, with a
few vignettes thrown in for good measure, about the trials and tribulations of
love in the modern world. In fact
it depicts everything
you ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands,
wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.
Although
there is no actual plotline, the show traces the evolution of the hetro-sexual
relationship, from caveman days in the prologue to the joys of single life in
Act One, and then the rather different joys of married life in Act Two.
If
you’re looking for an evening that is light-hearted and fun, then this is the
show for you.
I
Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” – from now on known as “Perfect”
for ease sake – is traditionally played with a cast of 4; two boys and two
girls.
However, it can be played with a cast of 8; four boys and four girls and
as we have such a wealth of talent in Epsom Players, this is how we’ve chosen
to play it.
It’s
a fun show which needs some strong singers and character actors and actresses
who are able to play a variety of comedy roles.
This show was cast as follows:
Men - Paul Falconer, Mark Fallon, Danny Willis, Lewis Wilmott
Women - Melanie Dunn, Laura Falconer, Lisa Rose-Michael, Sarah-Jane Smith
